About Westland UMC

Westland is a relatively young congregation, yet it has in a few years built a great heritage in the Lebanon Community.  The first service was held in Baird Chapel of Cumberland University on September 15, 1957.  Ninety members received charter certificates on April 20, 1958, many of those coming from the sponsor church, First Methodist.  The educational building was completed in September of 1959, and the first service in our present sanctuary was held on March 7, 1965.  On September 26, 1982, Westland celebrated its 25th anniversary, burning the note on the sanctuary and dedicating it to the service of God.  In 1993, the decision was made to expand our facilities with the addition of a Christian Life Center.

Our young history is rich, and our future is great.  Worship and study provide a foundation for our journey together into the future.  As we focus on the giver of life, we see God blessing us as we move boldly into the future.

There are a lot of great churches in our community, and if you are actively attending one of them, then we hope you will continue in your faithfulness to that congregation.  But if you do not have a church home, then this congregation may be the place for you.
